About Us

Janine E. Guglielmino, MA
Founder, Creative Cat Writing & Editing

Janine is a professional writer, editor and proofreader with more than 10 years of experience in marketing communications for nonprofit organizations.

For the past six years, Janine has served as communications director for Living Beyond Breast Cancer, a national nonprofit organization based outside Philadelphia. Janine plans, directs and implements LBBC's marketing, communications and public relations. She writes news and feature copy for traditional and online media, works closely with national and regional reporters and copyedits and proofreads a variety of materials. She has worked on many projects, including redesigning the organization's collateral materials and logo, overhauling its website and formulating a strategic plan. During Janine's tenure, LBBC has increased both its budget for and staffing on communications projects.

Previously, Janine served as associate senior editor for The Chronicle of Philanthropy, the biweekly newspaper of the nonprofit world, and associate editor for American Forests, the quarterly magazine published by the nonprofit organization of the same name. Janine's freelance writing and editing projects include work for the Greater Philadelphia Cultural Alliance, Small Business Development Centers, and the Center for a New American Dream. Janine volunteers for several nonprofits, including the Greater Philadelphia chapter of the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. She is a member of the Public Relations Society of America.

Janine has a master's degree in journalism and public affairs from the American University and a bachelor's degree in history from Haverford College. Janine lives in Philadelphia with a frisky white cat named Nanuq and a gray tabby named Tug. Creative Cat Writing & Editing is named in honor of Janine's first cat, Lancelot. Janine's hobbies include reading, writing, singing, traveling, working on her house, pestering neighborhood animals with hugs and kisses, knitting and watching professional baseball and football. See Janine's skills in action on CCW's writing samples page.
